User Interface Progress

The new UBC SailBot User Interface will be a huge step forward for us, incorporating modern web standards to make an extremely versatile and expandable platform for us to control our SailBot from. On Saturday the UI Team had our most productive workshop of the term. Here’s a snapshot of all the changes that went down during the 3 hour session.

We now have large chunks of the Overview page GUI laid out, and we’re now waiting for some real data to be provided from the control team. The javascript required to get and send data has been completed for 3 user interface windows. We now have a working map with the map tiles stored locally for offline access, and we’ve proved the ability to draw markers on the map and move their location. Soon we will be able to showcase a snapshot on how our user interface for this year will look like.
