Arrival in Gloucester

The team arrived in Gloucester, MA (pronounced “Glosta”) after a long overnight flight from Vancouver. After checking in at the residence at Endicott College, we set out to re-assemble Thunderbird 2013 at Maritime Gloucester which is the home base for the competition.

All of our equipment arrived as expected, and all of Saturday morning was spent assembling the rigs, attaching the wind vane, and sealing the hatches.

As the first team to arrive we had the workspace to ourselves in the morning, and were able to get setup up quickly to sail our boat in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

We ran through all of our tests on the Saturday afternoon and all day sunday to make sure our systems were working at 100%. Things are looking promising for Monday which is our first day of competition!
